Learning and Moving Forward

Tips to Maintaining Engagement and Productivity During This Crisis

The world is experiencing an unprecedented situation in the response to COVID-19. It is important that we continue to move Howard Forward in these trying times by staying engaged with our campus, each other and most importantly our students. We encourage you to use this time to initiate new projects or continue activities that you may push to the side when things are "normal". Examples of these projects could be:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Goal Setting
  • Data Collection or Analysis
  • Reaching Out to Say 'Thank You' to your Colleagues
  • Developmental Training (soft skills, desktop skills, professional certifications etc)
  • Departmental Collaborations
  • Process Improvements
  • Continuity of Operations Plans
  • Data Clean Up
  • Performance Management

Staff in all corners of the University should be working together to improve our the student experience and setting the course for our new normal. We encourage you to have discussions with both your leaders and employees to re-define expectations for success during this period. To support you, we have put together a list of on-demand and live virtual learning courses as a way to continue to build your skills from home. As an employee at Howard University, you are provided free access to our online, on-demand learning library that includes over 2,000 free courses.
