Onboarding via Workday

As a new employee with Howard University, you now have access to Workday, our employee self-service portal! Workday provides staff, faculty, and student workers with a single, modern, secure, and intuitive online platform to perform such task as: 1) Maintaining personal contact information 2) Managing both bank information for direct deposit and tax elections for federal and state withholdings.  3) Electing and updating benefit information & 4) Requesting time off and leave approvals.

Below are some job-aids to get you started in Workday. 

New Hire Orientation

As a new hire you will begin your first day at Howard University in new hire orientation where you will be briefed on information about Howard University and employment at Howard University. New hire orientation will be held either in-person or live virtual depending on the current room availability and safety concerns on campus. Your recruiter will provide you specifics about orientation location. During the session You will also be given pertinent information regarding the following policies and procedures:

  • Human Resources
  • Title IX
  • Sexual Harassment
  • EEO
  • Safety
  • Internet Security
  • Benefits
  • Note: University employees who work in the hospital will require additional training. 

 

Please be sure to review your welcome email to determine specific time, location and parking instructions.

Driving: Limited street parking is available near campus, so please allow time to search for an available space. You may also utilize the visitor parking lot at a rate of $10/day. The entrance to the Howard Center Lot is located on 8th St. NW. To purchase a visitor permit in advance, visit https://tagbgroup.com.
