HU Learning Hours

Learn, Connect and Grow

Program Overview

HU Learning Hours is a dynamic, hybrid professional development experience designed to support ongoing growth for all Howard University employees. The program includes three distinct components to provide multiple ways to learn, connect, and grow:

Virtual Learning Sessions
Each month, we offer two 60-minute virtual sessions aligned with the monthly learning theme: one for all Howard employees and one specifically for Howard People Leaders. These sessions are designed to deliver a high-impact learning experience with opportunities for moderate peer engagement.

The virtual learning sessions will take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

University Wide: 10:00am | People Leader: 1:00pm

In-Person Skills Labs
These 60 minute in-person sessions are hands-on and highly interactive, providing a supportive environment for practicing foundational skills. Participants can expect a high level of engagement in a diverse learning space, ideal for real-time feedback and peer collaboration.

The in-person skills labs will take place in-person on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

University Wide: 1:00pm | People Leader: 2:30pm

Asynchronous Learning
Howard employees will have access to a curated library of self-paced learning resources that complement the monthly theme. This flexible component allows employees to deepen their learning at their own pace, outside of instructor-led sessions.
